Australorps
Australorps are a very gentle natured, docile breed that becomes attached to their owners as much as you will to them! They are egg-stremely calm and are a delight in any urban or acreage backyard - they are also great for families with children, because they are so tame.
They can lay up to 280 brown eggs a year and will even lay in winter months. The record Australorp laid 364 eggs out of 365 days! This breed is a very nice and large size so they also double for butchering as well
Our Australorps come from a few different breeding lines. Dan Smith in Alberta, combination of USA (Iowa), Vancouver Island and Mainland (Langley)

LAVENDER ORPINGTONS
The lovely lavender color is an eye catcher. This shouldn't be confused with the blue gene. Lavender fowl breed true so confusing or crossing the two varieties is not a good idea. are known to become broody, will mature slowly, and begin to lay medium to large brown eggs around 6 months. They handle confinement well or can be free-ranged. Orpingtons are adored for their good nature and willingness to be handled. You wont be disappointed with this visually stunning bird.

mixed breed pen

My mixed flock are composed of large dual purpose hens (some pure, some crosses) that are excellent layers. Barnyard Mutts, otherwise known as crossbreeds, are perhaps the most useful of chickens. They are all great foragers and all are very unique. This pen has a combination of brown, white, cream, green and blue eggs. Your egg basket will be a lovely rainbow!
